Fernando Farias teaches guitar, drums at the South Florida Conservatory of Music in Hollywood, FL.
Fernando Farias is a Miami guitarist and drummer who teaches electric and acoustic guitar and drums at SFLCM. He has been teaching since 2005, in private lessons and group classes, with students from elementary school through adulthood.
He holds an associate's degree in music and music education. His work includes guitar, bass, piano, drums, music theory, and ear training, including a roster of more than 100 students at The Guitar Shop in South Miami and hundreds of students at Sunset String Society, where he also planned recitals. He has taught jazz guitar and bass for Florida International University's continuing education program, and later taught piano, guitar, bass, drums, and production at Mandelstem School. On stage he plays guitar and bass with Tamboka, a Latin jazz fusion band in Miami, and he produces and composes at Solidstate Sounds Studio in Fort Lauderdale. From 2019 to 2024 he co-founded Rebel Love Music and directed its live shows.
Fernando mixes traditional technique with the songs students actually want to play. He focuses on time, listening, and steady progress, from first chords and first grooves through real repertoire, and he works well with beginners and with players who want to go further.
