About the Performers
Isaac Casal – Cello
An internationally celebrated cellist, Isaac Casal has performed across Europe, the Americas, and Africa as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer. With a Doctor of Musical Arts in Cello Performance from Louisiana State University, a Master’s from Baylor University, and an Artist Diploma from Southern Methodist University, his deep understanding of the instrument and its repertoire makes him a compelling performer.
Beyond the stage, Casal is a dedicated educator and arts advocate, having served as Cello Chair and Professor at the University of Panama (2016-2022), faculty member at Mountain View College in Dallas, and Instructor at Miami Dade College and Miami Music Project. As the founder and Artistic Director of FUNSINCOPA and the Alfredo San Malo Music Festival of Panama, he has championed music education for underserved communities, recruiting over 300 Panamanian students and engaging world-class instructors.
Isaac Casal’s performances are deeply expressive, reflecting his belief in the transformative power of music. His work continues to inspire audiences worldwide, bridging classical and Latin American musical traditions.
Mariana Airaudo – Piano
A distinguished pianist and chamber music specialist, Mariana Airaudo has performed in prestigious venues across Latin America, Europe, and the United States. Originally from Montevideo, Uruguay, she holds degrees from the Conservatorio Integral de Música, the University School of Music in Montevideo, and CODARTS University of the Arts in Rotterdam, Netherlands. She further refined her artistry with a Master’s in Chamber Music from the National University of Rosario, Argentina.
Mariana’s career uniquely blends classical, tango, and Rioplatense music, earning her collaborations with leading musicians and orchestras. She has graced renowned stages including the Teatro Solís in Uruguay, Sala Cecilia Meireles in Brazil, and concert halls in Spain, France, Germany, England, and the U.S.. She is also a regular faculty member at international music festivals and has been a soloist with major orchestras such as the Montevideo Philharmonic and OSSODRE.
Her passion for chamber music has led to exciting collaborations, including Dúo Airaudo-Robles de Medina, Reboleo Dúo, and her partnership with cellist Isaac Casal, focusing on Latin American chamber repertoire. Her recent projects include the album “...Y el tango se hizo mujer” (2024), celebrating female composers in tango.
